Another way to enjoy the beauty of Lake Toba apart from the Port of Parapat is from Tele Tower. From Menara Tele, you can see other attractions besides Lake Toba. These include the famous Pusuk Buhit Mountain, rice fields and waterfalls, which are located near Lake Toba. Even though they look very small from far away, still, it is one of the best tourist attractions in Samosir.
This tower was built in 1988 and has become very popular over time. Green hills cover most of the lake. They are quite soothing. This tower has 4 different levels. The highest level is the most favorite place to watch the view. It features clear glasses, so you can see outside openly. Sometimes, the glasses are stained and dusty. If this happens, it’s better to go to a lower level.
The best thing to do at Tele Tower is photography. Take these beautiful photos from the tower. Make sure you come in clear weather. Because the temperature can be very cold, you need to wear warm clothes.
There is an entrance fee to enter Menara Tele. The price varies and depends on the season. Usually, it’s more expensive during holidays. The tour around here is only around 30 minutes to 2 hours. Although there are also some tourists who spend more time.
After Tele Tower, you can visit nearby tourist attractions such as Lake Sidihoni, Batu Hobon, and many more. At the end of the day, you must visit the nearest village, to enjoy local dishes. There are many local restaurants, so you can try Batak specialties food. This includes Arsik and Saksang. The locals are also friendly, maybe you can learn and get to know some local cultures and languages. Isn’t that great?
